Poly braid with crinoline- untrimmed hat base

The combination types of polypropylene and crinoline horsehair untrimmed hat base are great for a summer hat making project. Adding a floral trimming or crinoline horsehair bow to these hat bases makes a beautiful dress hat.

Already made with interesting translucent designs and unique brim shapes, these hats require little touching up. This quality blank mixed polypropylene braid with horsehair plain hats come with different styles and shapes, makes a great foundation for your hat making project.

Here are some tips on how you can keep your hat clean:

  • Wool felt Hats can be cleaned with a soft bristled hat brush or soft sponge. Felt hats must be brushed in a counterclockwise direction with the crown facing you. When dealing with mud, allow the mud to dry. Once the mud is dry, it will be easy to brush off. Grease spots can be brushed out with a little cornstarch. Many folks choose to dry-clean.
  • Straw Hats can be brushed. A small whisk broom can be used for deeply textured straws. Other straws can be cleaned using a soft brush, sponge, or cloth. A moist cloth is also very effective.
  • Canvas and Fabric Hats can be hand washed. Warm water and mild detergent are what you need. Do not attempt to force dry.
  • Sinamay Hats can NOT be washed. Always keep your Sinamay hats in a dry place. If the Sinamay hats are out of shape, try to use steamer to recover the shape. For help, please call 1-888-525-9268
  • All hats: Remove dust and lint from your hat periodically to avoid deterioration of strength and soiling.

The Sewn hat bodies need to be sewn with your desired shape for blocking, usually it is sewn to match the wooden blocks.
